Magnos Ethos

"We, the people of the nation of Eleador, hold that these ethos of law to be present within the being of all Elear and in fact, form the vision we all strive to preserve and protect. All Elear, regardless of title, heritage, profession, creed, or disposition pledge of their own free will and volition to the edicts written within this charter. All principia herein are irrevocable and shall remain of this Realm forever. They are furthermore the duty of its people to uphold for the sanctity of Eleador until the dusk of Time."

::Preservation of Vision and the Heart::

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The Oath of Protection

All life is sacred and as such, thou shall not kill without just cause or provocation. However, at times it is necessary to defend one’s life and beliefs. It is the right of an Elear to “defend” themselves when confronted by situations and people which conflict with life and belief. These are the high conflicts which oppose the Eleadorian Cause and Belief:

I. War: Contact with a political entity that Eleador is at war with.
II. The Blackmark: Contact has been made with a person that has been deemed Unforgiven.
III. Oppression: An attempt is being made to murder or rob another citizen of Eleador, an innocent, or an ally of Eleador.
IV. Abetment: Discovery of an entity assisting an enemy of Eleador in any way.
V. Vandalism: Discovery of an entity damaging property of Eleador or her Allies.
VI. Heretic: Discovery of an entity committing a heresy against the land or people of Eleador.
VII. Nuisance to the Peace: Contact has been made with a person that has clearly become afflicted with the horrid disease known as Spam.

  • Reprievement

It is possible to forgive an enemy of the State once, and only once. This is done so upon a formal request for a pardon to the people of Eleador. If given this second chance and failure occurs; they are to forever remain Unforgiven.

Devotion
::Preservation of the People::

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The Oath of One

Above all else is our unity. Though the gates of heaven are closed, to take the life of your fellow Elear is the greatest evil. Never raise your hand against another Elear. To do so, is to journey down the darkened path and relinquish your rights of brotherhood.

  • Equality

All Elear, regardless of title, heritage, profession, creed, or disposition are inherently equal in so much as they are persons. In this respect, fellow Elear are not to be discriminated against on any of these levels.

  • Respect

Treat other Elear as you would like yourself treated. To act disrespectful toward another Elear is to disrespect all Elear. Always strive to be courteous, polite, and friendly toward your fellows.

Order
::Preservation of Society::

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The Oath of Duty

The laws of the Eleador are intended to protect the sanctity of its people, lands, and the general peace. It is henceforth the general duty of all Elear to uphold and follow any cause which promotes this directive. It is similarly held that any cause which contradicts this directive is to be opposed.

  • Evasion of the Law

The laws of the Eleadorian society are not perfect, though they strive to be so. Those that purposefully try and evade the spirit of our laws, are the enemies of our laws and are to be dealt with accordingly.

  • Dualism of the Spirit

Occasionally there comes a time when "spirits" can be drawn across national boundaries. These "spirits" can often have many forms which are commonly referred to in myth and legend as avatars. While the inter-workings of "spirits" remain very much a mystery, it is known their respective avatars are always bound to them in all courses of action. Eleador does not demand singularity of purpose from the "spirit" of an avatar to the cause of the Elear. However, Eleador does demand that these various avatars do not endanger the welfare of Eleador. If a "spirit" is found to have one avatar that abuses the principia herein, then all avatars have violated the Ethos and all must be purged.

  • The Lost Soul

Although this is a rare phenomena, occasionally a soul dies only to be replaced by a new soul within the same body. A villainous soul can be replaced by goodly soul and vice versa. Souls that are evidenced to have gone through a transition will be evaluated by their current deeds. In the case of reforming villains, a villain will remain so until their actions are deemed to have made amends for their past misdeeds. In the case of an Elear experiencing soul-exchange, their bond of brotherhood is severed until such time as the new soul can be evaluated based upon their current deeds.

Balance
::Preservation of the Land::

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The Oath of Preservation

Protect the lands of Eleador as though it were your own lifeblood. As the land lives and breathes, so do the Elear. As the land withers and dies, so do the Elear. The Elear and the land are one.
